CrossOver DeskSupport uses the Repeater, both the Server and Viewer can stand behind a NAT firewall/router without having to configure ports forwarding. A Repeater is most time available on the CrossOver server.

It uses Following Connection Ports

The server port on repeater ( default port = 5901 )The client port on repeater ( default = 5500 )

Registering DeskSupport

If you have got CrossOver DeskSupport, you need to register it on CrossOver Server to make it usable.To Register DeskSupport Open Main Screen >> Click On Register Online. Regisration Screen appears ,To register you must have a internet connection now you have to submit *Fullname,*Compnay Name,*Phone No,*Email and remarks.(NOTE : * Field entries are mandatory) after submitting these information you will get a activation code software will automatically registered in your system.

This activation code will help you to contact the CrossOver administrator in future for further assistance or any kind of support.

This window will be used to create DeskSupport.exe file that will be used in remote site to connect to the server. Enter the proper value in the respective field and Click on 'Generate Client' button to create client application file.

Repeater Configuration

Email Configuration

During and/or after different action, there may be need sending emails. To enable this feature you should configre this block. For eg. after support session, server will sent email to client with presentation summary, by this time sender's email address will be the one that you filled in the 'Email From Address' and if you don't fill the field sending email will fail. To send an email you need to specify your SMTP server name (eg. smtp.ntc.net.np). May be SMTP username and password is required to connect to the SMTP server or if you don't have any, let this field empty. List of field to be filled:

After completing this settings , Click on Generate Client button which will create a client application in your system. It will prompt you to open the application directory for easyness you can choose Yes. This file usually located in the 'C:\Program Files\CrossOver DeskSupport\myservers' directory. Now you have the client application file. You have to provide this application file to the Client who needs your support in some way.
